Temporary Closing of Roads

Notice is hereby given pursuant to the Roads Act, 1993 (Section 75) and Article 12 of Roads Regulation 1994 of the Council’s intention to close a  section of the following road from Monday 23rd August to Friday  3rd of September 2010 exclusive of weekend to facilitate road resurfacing and surface dressing on the R181 Lough Egish to Shercock road .

Road Closed:-

 R181- from  Lough Egish Cross roads to Cavan Border.

Alternative Routes:-  

Traffic Travelling from Shercock to Lough Egish:-

  • At Shercock town take the R162 onto Ballybay town and then take the R180 onto Lough Egish.

or

  • At Shercock town take the R178 into Carrickmacross town and then take the R180 onto Lough Egish.

 

Traffic Travelling from Lough Egish to Shercock:-

  • At Lough Egish take the R180 onto Ballybay town and then take the R162 onto Shercock town.

or

  • At Lough Egish take the R180 into Carrickmacross town and then take the R178 onto Shercock town.

Diversion signage will be in place on the above diversion routes.

Local access and emergency services access only will be catered for at all times.
Any interested person may lodge an objection to the closing of the above-mentioned road with the Director of Services for Roads, Monaghan County Council Offices, Glen Road, Monaghan not later than Wednesday 4th August.  Any objections must be clearly marked on envelope “Objection To Road Closure”.
