Temporary Closing of Roads - Carrickmacross Area

Notice is hereby given pursuant to the Roads Act, 1993 (Section 75) and Article 12 of Roads Regulation 1994 of the Council’s intention to close  the following road from Monday 9th to Friday 20th of August 2010 inclusive, excluding weekend to facilitate the procedure of road resurfacing and surface dressing  on the R178.

Road Closed:-

 R178 from Carrickmacross Town boundary speed limit to Cavan Border. 

Alternative Routes:-  

Traffic Travelling from Shercock to Carrickmacross:-

• At Shercock take the R162 onto Kingscourt and then take the R179 onto Carrickmacross.

Traffic Travelling from Carrickmacross to Shercock:-

• At Carrickmacross take the R179 onto Kingscourt and then take the R162 onto Shercock.

Diversion signage will be in place on the above diversion routes.

Local access and emergency services access only will be catered for at all times.
