Dog Warden

Our Dog Warden is Martin Nulty.
Martin collects dogs that are stray around the county.  He will also collect dogs voluntarily surrendered by their owners, for a fee.  He is authorised to seize dogs which are not under the effective control of their owners.
An owner who wishes to reclaim his/her dog from the Dog Pound must contact the Dog Warden or the Dog Pound (see below).  They must present their licence for that dog and must pay a charge to cover the cost of collection and impounding of the dog.
Martin also conducts checks around the county to ensure that dog owners are complying with their legal responsibilities.  He will issue fines to dog owners who:

  • Do not have a licence or licences for the dogs in their possession
  • Do not have their dogs under effective control
  • Do not have a collar on their dog with their name and address on or attached to it
