Notice to Tenders - Clones Erne East Sports Partnership Project

Monaghan County Council is seeking expression of interest from suitably qualified contractors who wish to be considered for the construction of a 1285 m2 (approx) Sports building, including 600m2 Sports Hall, 8 lane Athletics Track, 3G All-weather Multi-Purpose Pitch, Relocation of existing grass GAA Pitch, Flood lighting to all pitches and track, car parking, roads, footpaths, and general site lighting; regrading of site to suit the playing surfaces, including treatment of soft ground by surcharging, continuous monitoring of same and disposal of excess material post surcharge period, culverting of an existing surface water stream; new entrance, boundary walls and fencing, landscape planting and all associated site works and services.

The contract is a design and build contract. 

The contractor shall be Works Contactor, Designer, PSDP and PSCS. It is intended to novate the existing single point design team (architects, landscape architects, civil and structural engineers, M&E services engineers, Project Supervisor Design Process) to the main contractor at Construction Stage.  The contract includes Work Specialist with Design Input for athletics track and synthetic pitch surfaces.

Expressions of interest are also invited from suitable qualified Specialists (Synthetic Pitch Contractor) to be shortlisted onto a panel.  The specialist works will consist of 2 separate sports surfaces and associated elements to include design input and construction. The 2 sports facilities are as follows: an adult sized 3G GAA pitch to incorporate 10 No. 5-a-side soccer pitch layouts and 1 No. rugby pitch layout and an IAAF standard athletics facility to a min. of construction category III.  The works will involve site clearance, groundworks, 3G synthetic pitch installation to GAA performance & construction standards for synthetic turf pitches, IAAF approved synthetic athletics track and all track & field event facilities, drainage, fencing, floodlighting etc.

Contractors who are interested should complete the questionnaire and return it in a sealed envelope not later than 5pm on Tuesday 3rd August 2010 to
